MAJOR FUNCTION:
Performs clerical and communication functions on a nursing unit. Must be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of the unit and hospital. Works with the registered nurse in caring for patients as requested. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse performs those patient care activities for which he/she has been prepared within the scope of the law and functions as in integral part of the nursing team.

QUALIFICATION:

Education & Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Medical terminology, computer experience.
• Previous experience as an LPN.
• Unit clerk experience desired/nurses aid preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Current registration with New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
• BLS preferred.
• 4 hours of stroke education required annually.
