Senior Process Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*
- You will execute process engineering deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures, practices, and standards
- Further you will provide information throughout the various proposal, engineering and construction phases to the proposal and project teams with regards to all aspects of Process Engineering
- In addition you will develop Process Flow Diagram (PFDs) and explain selected flow configuration, as well to develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and line lists including hydraulic calculations
- Also you will calculate equipment sizes including vessels, columns, heat exchanger requirements, packaged equipment specifications, compressors, pumps, distillation columns, separators, reactors, etc. and provide information in the form of equipment data sheets
- Attend and input at major reviews such a PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, and 3D model reviews, representing the process engineering discipline and being able to explain process design questions to clients and other disciplines
- Perform a thorough review of customer’s inquiry and/or request for Process Design information.
Perform process simulations and develop Heat and Material Balances (H&MB’s) - Also you will participate in preparation of material selection designation (diagram) for plant requirements and develop innovative ideas and alternatives to be cost competitive with proposals are of advantage
- In this role you will provide technical expertise to the project execution team and assist in developing plant control philosophy
- Lastly you will assist in Plant start-up activities, as required and direct performance testing of the plant and deliver results report
What makes you great
- You have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and eight years of industry experience preferred
- Furthermore you will have experience in process simulation is required, as well as strong working knowledge of one or more process simulators such as Unisim and/or HYSYS, and amine treating simulators such as ProMax or ProTreat
- Possess competency in software to rate equipment such as heat exchangers, flares, compressors, control valves, etc.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills with Microsoft Office software and Windows are needed for this role, strong Excel skills are required as well
- You are able to work with minimal supervision and to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Further you are detail orientated, creative and innovative, have effective analytical and problems solving skills
- You have a good understanding of process safety concepts, Knowledge of material balance, process controls, and plan hydraulics are required
