Occ Summary
Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for pat ientsin accordance with physician orders and establishedpolicies andproc edures. Provide nursing services to patients and families inaccordance w ith the scope of the RN as defined by the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing .
Work Performed
Plan, provide, supervise and documen t professional nursing careutilizing the nursing processfor patients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize theplan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response to care.Deleg ate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed andunlicensed c are providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a groupof patients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintai nthe environment ofcare including equipment and material resources.Part icipate in own professional development by maintaining requiredcompetenc ies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassistance or edu cational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and in performance i mprovement activities.Perform other related duties incidental to the wor k described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
Experience
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
