For our North American headquarters, located in La Mirada, California, we have an immediate opening for a Business Development Director.
Summary
The Business Development Director will lead the Solutions team with the goal of increasing sales of IQAir products and services. Strategic planning is a key part of this job description which requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services IQAir provides and of the company’s competitors. The ability to establish and grow new accounts is key to meeting IQAir sales objectives.

Experience with and knowledge of commercial consultative, government and educational selling- Aptitude in strategic sales planning, networking, identification of customer needs and challenges, territory management, and reporting on and meeting of sales goals
- Technical aptitude to understand product line and applicability to customer’s needs
- Excellent closing skills
- Knowledge, insight, and understanding of industry technologies
- The ability to manage, plan, set and monitor company goals and sales activities as well as work effectively under pressure in dealing with multiple priorities simultaneously will be key to success in this position
Responsibilities
Establish new accounts and grow existing accounts to meet IQAir’s sales objectives.
- Prospect and identify potential new clients, identifying key decision-makers, to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
- Plan approaches and pitches. Work with the team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
- Train sales-based teams to handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
- Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff
- Communicate and interact with various departments to ensure issues related to such things as delivery schedules, inventory levels, marketing programs and payment discrepancies are kept at a minimum
- Develop knowledge and/or remain current in marketplace trends and be able to understand competitive pressures that could potentially hinder opportunities for market/account growth.
- Other projects as assigned
- 25%-50% travel
Qualifications
5-10 years of progressive national account sales experience, with most of the experience in commercial B2B
- Experience with prospecting, in the field and via telephone, email and other communication tools
- Highly effective communication skills, capable of adapting communication style to a varied audience
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications and CRM tools
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years sales or marketing experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screening
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screening
May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities both in and outside the company to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
What IQAir offers
At IQAir, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range . The base pay range for this position is between $160,000.00 and $180,000.00 annually and most new hires start at $160,000.00. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience.
