Job description
The Benefit Systems Analyst is responsible on behalf of the Benefits Department for the day-to-day operations of the current ePersonality (eP)/Highline Payroll/HRIS system, and will be responsible for ongoing operations and implementation new HCM system(s); creating customized reports and configuring/improving business processes to support changes in plan structure and Benefit Department initiatives. This key role will collaborate with all IT, HR, Finance and Administrative teams, in addition to stakeholders and other 3rd party vendors. This role will ensure the most efficient and effective solutions are developed and implemented to meet business needs.
Create reports and data files for the Benefits Department and external parties, including support for annual Financial Audits and Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) reporting required under GASB
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Maintain data interfaces and transmission files with NJ TRANSIT vendors and third-party administrators
- Systems configuration for benefit plan changes and systems upgrades
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Develop and utilize internal analysis reporting to discover inefficient and adverse trends and work to correct
- Drive continuous service improvement
- Determine underlying problems to eliminate repeat issues
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Complete assigned tasks related to day-to-day operations. These processes may include, but are not limited to, eligibility enrollments, systems variances reports, and carrier audits
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 - 5 years relevant experience in an information technology field. Degree may be substituted by four (4) additional years of related experience
- Benefits systems experience for implementation and maintenance
- Experience working with unionized employees a plus
- Able to manage a fast-paced environment; meet strict deadlines & handle multiple ongoing projects concurrently
- Expert knowledge of common HR Information Systems
- Experience with service delivery modes, processes, techniques, and tools.
- Knowledge of SQL, Discoverer, Oracle, OBIEE, Java, Move-It, DOS BATCH/CMD, FTP, MS Access, .NET
- Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as strong analytical and organizational skills required.
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Must be able to take initiative and work independently
- Strong presentation skills and ability to convey technical information to non-technical users
- Strong critical thinking skills

Salary: $43.93 - $90.61 per hour
