Overview:
The position will be responsible for strategy, thought leadership, management, and oversight of the Certara Evidence & Access (EvA) services related Data, Advanced Analytics, and Modeling, a team with a wide range of analytical backgrounds including biostatistics, programming (R, SAS,..), advanced mathematics, statistical modelling included health economic modeling, and other advanced analytics disciplines in the rapidly emerging healthcare data analytics field. The Data, Analytics, and Modeling center of excellence (COE) within Certara EvA is responsible to support the variety of service offerings of Certara, including health economic modeling, indirect treatment comparisons, real-world data analytics, predictive modeling, and precision medicine. Furthermore, the COE is responsible for the development of proprietary analytic tools and algorithms to automate common processes and create operational efficiencies and to support new product
Responsibilities:


Domain Leadership:
  • Drive thought leadership for EvA Data, Analytics, and Modelling across internal and external stakeholders. Support internal/external trainings and communications in data science, modelling and simulation, and related quantitative sciences especially relating to the use of real-world data (RWD) and associated advanced analytical methods that apply to the use of RWD and hybrid data models to support commercialization and access-related initiatives for Certara customers.
  • Contributes to business development by demonstrating EvA Data, Analytics, & Modelling capabilities, designing and describing recommended methodological approaches, supporting capabilities presentations and proposal defenses, and playing a key role in developing client proposals and pitches. Generates and drives new business through relationships and thought leadership activities leading to a minimum of $2-3M in annual bookings with at least $1.5M sourced/identified through their own professional network and contacts.
  • Support internal scientific and technical development such as methodology or software developments.

Team Leadership:
  • Assure efficient and profitable performance of our suite of access-related analytic services creating a sustainable and scalable resource for EvA as well as broader Certara organization. Assure efficient cross resourcing and collaboration with other EvA and Certara-wide teams on multidisciplinary and global projects and programs.
  • Oversee current team of international analytics and modeling staff (10-30 staff) and recruit additional staff commensurate with growth for the business.
  • Recruit top tier talent to build upon the existing team to solidify Certara’s position as one of the top providers in the area of model informed drug development and commercialization, including advanced RWD analytics, predictive modeling, and simulation.
  • Oversee a measurement and reward framework that includes goal setting, KPIs, variable rewards structures, etc. that drive behaviors that are supportive of individual and team success.
  • Cultivate a high-performance yet collaborative culture that can drive sustained growth.
  • Actively contribute to EvA strategic initiatives with other EvA and Certara senior leaders to drive expanded services, products, and capabilities and ultimately the growth of the business.
Qualifications:


Education, Experience, Training, and Knowledge:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, etc.) in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, physics, etc.
  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience in the application of quantitative methods in healthcare/healthcare data, with at least 5 of those years specifically in the biopharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years in a management role including experience managing highly numerate PhD-level scientists.
  • Exposure to pharmacoepidemiology, RWD/real-world evidence, market access, and HEOR is required.
  • A strong track record of thought leadership spanning publications, podium presentations, etc.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep understanding and wide experience in a range of statistical, mathematical, and algorithmic techniques
  • Hands-on experience and strong skills in statistical programming with more than one package (R, SAS, WinBUGS, C++, etc.)
  • Business acumen for advanced analytical services in the healthcare sector.
  • Ability to conceive and implement modelling and simulation solutions for complex business or public health issues, in challenging timelines.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, in multidisciplinary, multi-country and multi-cultural working environments.
  • Strong communication skills, spoken and written, including to communicate results from complex analysis audience to decision makers or senior management.
  • Professional English written and spoken
