Join the Global Communications team overseeing the Walmart Press Office and make an impact across not only on the future of retail, but on topics and issues the whole world is watching. This is a position designed to keep you thinking on your feet daily, pivoting and multi-tasking fluidly.

You'll make an impact by:

• Developing media and digital strategies for corporate and business unit clients by monitoring and measuring strategies; identifying public relations opportunities, & threats; and evaluating and reporting the effectiveness of media relations efforts to enhance the company's reputation.
• Representing and protecting the Walmart brand in the media by driving positive messaging highlighting business initiatives and combatting negative narratives.
• Serving as a company spokesperson to ensure complex and sensitive statements and key messages are provided to the media.
• Acting as the first point of contact for stores experiencing media-related issues, providing guidance and gathering information to assist in crafting messaging.
• Writing, editing and approving communications materials, coordinating with internal clients, Corporate Communications partners and Legal.
• Risk assessment and consistent message delivery across internal and external channels.
• Providing guidance to and collaborating with internal business partners in times of crisis.
• Drafting and finalizing recommendations for proactive media outreach and crisis communication.
• Developing, maintaining and leveraging relationships with national, local and online journalists for proactive and reactive media stories while mitigating and elevating potential media opportunities.
• Supporting comprehensive media plans for Walmart's corporate and business unit clients to enhance the company's reputation by researching global business and societal trends to identify proactive and reactive public relations opportunities.
• Identifying emerging digital and social media issues and crafting response recommendations.
• Monitoring company media coverage and reporting to internal clients and business partners.
• Cultivating an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area. 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
