Our seasonal summer staff are adventurous, innovative, and creative individuals who have a passion for creating a space for campers and adults to be their authentic selves, trying new activities and making life-long friendships and connections.

The Kitchen Director is the supervisor of the kitchen staff team, and they lead the camp kitchen in functioning smoothly and efficiently in serving 3 meals a day to between 200-250 people during the week. A menu will already be set in place for the summer, so main responsibilities would be managing the kitchen staff and their schedules, leading and participating in the prep/production of meals, managing clean-up, and managing inventories/submitting menu needs for food orders.

While it is preferred that the Kitchen Director live on site to better be included in the camp community, accommodations can be made for the ideal candidate(s) to live off site and commute into work each day. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work opportunities.

This position has the ability to split duties/hours between two different people, depending on experience and availability of applicants. Pay range is dependent on the following variables: experience, living on site or not, and if more than one person is hired into the role or not.

Qualifications

· Be a minimum of 18 years of age.

· Have extensive training or documented experience in Food Services.

· Hold or be willing to obtain a Utah Food Handlers’ Permit. Food Safety Manager certificate preferred.

· Hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

· Possess good organizational, leadership, and teaching skills:

  • Ability to schedule and manage time, resources, and people.
  • Strong decision making skills while exercising good judgment.
  • Six weeks experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred.

· Ability to respond in a crisis situation.

· Ability to bend down and move, lift, stock, and carry boxes, program materials, and supplies (up to 50 pounds).

· Ability to walk, stand, and work on feet up to 8 hours a day.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 per week
