The Senior Systems Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining data integration processes between Yusen internal applications and external trading partners. The Senior Systems Integration Developer will work very closely with business analysts, system and data architects, and operational staff to ensure the requirements are well understood; and develop processes that are robust and maximize the level of automation of the data-acquisition process while following best practices. The Senior Systems Integration Developer will participate in all phases of the project and development life cycle, from business requirements through logical modeling, database design, data sourcing, communication, data transformation, data loading, and performance tuning. They lead and mentor other developers with their strong understanding of microservice architecture, horizontal scaling, event driven systems, cloud native design patterns, and experience working with public facing systems. Culturally, they are driven to learn and excited by applying new technologies in support of a growing, dynamic multinational business.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates effectively with peer team members to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas.
- Interface with Business, IT management, project managers, technical leads, developers, and customers as needed.
- Develop and implement solutions for managing supply chain processes for production and operations.
- Ensure the policies, principles and standards of the Enterprise are employed.
- Analyze existing code to understand performance impact and propose solutions.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
- Develop microservices that support high availability, high scaleability, and parallel processing using design patterns while following industry best practicesand standards.
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Write clean, scalable code using programming languages.
- Develop high quality extensible and reusable code solutions with microservice-based architecture components including RESTful APIs, gateways, messaging systems and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Design, develop, schedule, and monitor information systems business solutions, ensuring that integration projects are feasible and meet business requirements.
- Design and utilize proper data storage types (Blob, Table, Queue, File) used during the integration process.
- Develop data transformations, Sterling Integrator maps, XSLT maps, stored procedures, , APIs and stand alone scripts.
- Work with business systems analysts to create technical design specifications, gaining a sound understanding of business processes for related applications so that integration processes fulfill the end-user requirements.
- Develop data, process, and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs.
- Lead and coordinate teams of information systems professionals in the development of software and integrated information systems.
- Follow testing standards and execute unit, integration, and performance testing activities to ensure complete, timely, and accurate data.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to system design, process flow, and software configuration.
- Understand and support data relationships for other system or application administrators such as data warehouses, operational execution systems and reporting. Troubleshoot errors that could reside in the integration layer.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of development experience with strong hands-on skills, expert level understanding of partner and transaction integrations.
- 4+ years of experience providing end-to-end integration solutions development for enterprise software or hosted services.
- 4+ years of experience in implementing enterprise projects as a lead architect covering technical and architectural assessments, services, analytics, security, testing and development.
- Expertise in .NET technologies, REST services and client-side integration via JSON for interfacing and building required services (APIs) to communicate with existing product suite.
- Experience with Sterling B2B Integrator 6.0 and Map Editor.
- Extensive knowledge with data formats such as XML, JSON, X12, csv, positional.
- Experience in working with Logistics EDI Transactions: 204,210,214,310,810,820,846,850,856, 834,940,943,944,945,947,990 and 997.
- In depth knowledge of mapping integration formats between applications to a variety of technical layouts including EDI.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-related supply chain management software.
- Extensive experience in supply chain analysis and optimization.
- Hands on experience in tuning integration jobs to reduce run-time and increase efficiency through code tuning, hardware deployment, and architecture changes.
- Advanced skills in both relational (SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) databases, in-memory caching and optimization.
- Solid knowledge of integration services and adapters such as HTTPS, SFTP, SMTP, JDBC, AS2, XSLT, Web services.
- Advanced knowledge of leading Integration Architecture concepts and patterns, including Microservices, Service Oriented Architecture, Batch Integration, and RESTful JSON services, etc.
- Understanding of object-oriented design patterns and concepts; demonstrated experience with applying them to software development.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Knowledgeable on technical data analysis, software configuration and software testing.
- Experienced with technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Advanced interpersonal, business communication, and writing skills.
- Complex thinking, analysis, and decision making skills.
- Able to work within a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
- Must be well organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of current best practices across the entire supply chain; manufacturing, inventory management, logistics planning, distribution and transportation.
- Keen ability to assess situations, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions. Ability to think things through and develop processes that contribute to enanced organizational efficiency.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions. Must have the ability to produce detailed written documentation and compose emails clearly and concisely.
