DAY-TO-DAY FOR OUR SPECIAL NEEDS CAMP DIRECTOR

When working as a Special Needs Camp director with our incredible human services nonprofit, you have the power to make a huge difference in the lives of children and young adults with disabilities! Your mission is to create an unforgettable summer camp experience by recruiting, training, and supervising staff, maintaining top-notch facilities and equipment, and ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Camp Colonie. In this seasonal position, you get to develop, implement, and evaluate amazing recreational programs that cater to the unique needs and interests of our campers, all while educating the public about our amazing camp.

Because you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills you succeed in this exciting seasonal recreational management role. WORK SCHEDULE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CAMP DIRECTOR

Our seasonal recreational management team members work a schedule that is demanding but truly rewarding, you work six weeks straight for our integrated summer camp program for children and young adults aged 5-21 years old.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SPECIAL NEEDS CAMP DIRECTOR

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Bachelor's degree in a field related to camping, rehabilitation, or education
• NYS Students with Disabilities (SWD) Teacher Certification
• Minimum of five years of administrative or supervisory experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

For this seasonal recreational management role, we need someone who has a strong background in human services or nonprofit work and experience working with children and young adults with special needs.
