The Proprietors Bar & Table (proprietorsnantucket.com) located in Nantucket, MA is seeking a full-time experienced Sous Chef.

The Proprietors Bar & Table brings a distinctly Nantucket viewpoint to the local food scene and is a culinary ode to our island’s historically well-traveled palate. Offering a menu of creatively-interpreted global cuisine, The Proprietors showcases the finest of Nantucket’s seasonal produce and protein.

The ideal candidate loves food and has a passion for hospitality. You show initiative and leadership while at the same time being a great team player.

Position:

• Sous Chef

Compensation:

• $1700 - $1900 weekly | Salary negotiable (based on experience)
• Paid bi-weekly
• Singing bonus

Schedule requirements:

• Seasonal Employment
• During High Season, 70 hours per week,
• 5-6 days per week

Language requirements:

• English

Experience & requirements:

• 1-3years of previous experience in a similar role in high volume upscale casual professional restaurant kitchen
• Willing to train candidates with the willingness to learn and the desire to grow
• Ordering & receiving, inventory
• Staff training & motivation
• Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)
• Managing 5 to 10 employees
