The Senior Recruiter is an exciting new position residing in central University Human Resources. This position will support the recruiting needs for a specific school or unit at Stanford. This is a newly created role in support of our Inclusive Talent Acquisition (ITA) initiative which is a multi-year effort to support and grow our diverse community by improving our candidate experience and talent pipeline through embedding fair and inclusive recruiting practices, relying on expert talent acquisition resources for recruiting support, actively sourcing for critical diverse talent pools, and optimizing partnerships to build a steady pipeline of diverse top talent. The senior recruiter will be the primary point person for a school or unit in working with hiring mangers to train them on best practices in recruiting, understand the long-term business needs of an organization, and ensure that all candidates have an optimal experience. The senior recruiter will be supported by a team of sourcers and a talent acquisition coordinator in order to ensure a robust pipeline of talent.
We are open to a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of onsite and work from home). The senior recruiter will be expected to work onsite on Tuesdays and Wednesday of each week. The number of days may occasionally fluctuate subject to business need, but the expectation is that this position will be onsite a minimum of 2 days/week. The onsite work location is Stanford Redwood City Campus, 505 Broadway, Redwood City, California but travel to the Palo Alto campus to meet with individuals in schools/units will be required at times.
CORE DUTIES:
- Partner with hiring managers and local HR staff to determine basic requirements and qualifications of positions to develop job postings, candidate profiles, and selection criteria.
- Be a brand ambassador to the ITA Program and to be committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce, including participation in driving equity, inclusion, and diversity initiatives within the recruiting process.
- Set hiring manager expectations, develop and execute service level agreements for individual positions, provide weekly reports to hiring managers
- Understand hiring manager’s business and organization, as well as their specific technical and cultural environments to best match candidates to positions.
- Provide guidance and tools to managers throughout the search process, including how to conduct interviews and extend offers.
- Manage multiple searches (10+) simultaneously with attention to meeting internal customer's deadlines and requirements
- Recruit, screen, interview, and recommend external and/or internal candidates for all levels of jobs, including support and hourly, professional and technical, and management positions.
- Cultivate pools of diverse potential candidates for future openings.
- Ensure candidates have a positive experience regardless of the outcome of the hiring process and contribute to developing a strong employer brand
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained concerning all phases of the recruitment process, including equal employment opportunity statistics, and is in compliance with state and federal laws, contractual obligations, and university guidelines.
- Work as a collaborative member of the recruitment team, taking on recruitment projects as needed
- Recruit from and/or conduct job fairs, as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Highly-developed interviewing and presentation skills
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.
- In-depth experience with web-based systems and recruiting sources, including the internet, social media, warm/cold calling, referrals, events, networking, publications, industry groups/associations, and job fairs.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $88,000 to $108,000 per annum/hour.
