Job description
We are looking for an energetic and skilled Senior Payroll Specialist. Payroll duties include the processing of a weekly payroll, maintaining 401k submissions, maintaining employee deductions, identifying areas for enhancements, multi-state tax knowledge, year-end experience and understating compliance for multiple locations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING - THE ROLE

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data including new hire entry
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, garnishments, insurance coverages, job titles and department transfers
  • Process weekly payrolls utilizing UKG, process submission of 401k contributions and matches, posting payroll and related journal entries
  • Deliver friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers by telephone, email, and in person
  • Ensure compliance with companywide policy, local, state, and federal laws related to assigned projects
  • Oversee and manage payroll initiatives and other company-wide projects
  • Help with year-end processes
  • Understands data flow to/from payroll systems and works with the IT/HRIS teams to help resolve data integration issues
  • Identify and drive continuous performance improvement projects to improve payroll accuracy, compliance and productivity across Esler Cos regions
  • Other Jobs as necessary, including assisting with special projects

WHAT YOU BRING - THE PERSON

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent experience preferred
  • Five plus years of directly related experience in a multi-state environment/multi-national environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above., preferably
  • Experience utilizing Ultimate Software a plus
  • Data entry with great proficiency and accuracy
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines
