The role requires exceptional communication skills and a great deal of cross-functional interaction. Additionally, successful candidates will have a strong financial modeling background and experience with financial reporting and analysis.

Navistar R&D Finance is seeking a
Senior Financial Analyst to join our group!
As an R&D Finance program lead, you will support the products and technologies which are driving our transformation to sustainable mobility.
The role requires exceptional communication skills and a great deal of cross-functional interaction. Additionally, successful candidates will have a strong financial modeling background and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
This role is not only responsible for accurate tracking of program financials but is also tasked with controlling program spend and guiding program strategy through prudent, finance-based decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Finance lead for assigned product development programs supporting multiple vehicle and powertrain platforms
- Work with Program Teams and Project Managers to understand the financial implications of program actions
- Coordinate cross-functionally with various Navistar departments, including Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing Manufacturing, and Quality
- Review and analyze monthly data to monitor and track program status, including labor reports and outside spending
- Maintain control of program expense and capital spending versus program targets and within overall Navistar budget constraints
- Prepare Business Cases to assess financial viability of new project requests
- Investigate and understand causes for all program financial variances. Present monthly results and explanations to Senior Management
- Work with the product costing organization to understand all Bill-of-Material changes
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual plans
- Streamline and improve departmental processes; promote best practices; coach and mentor peers and junior team members
- Prepare ad hoc analyses as required
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of finance experience
- 1 year lead experience

- Master’s degree
- At least 3 years of finance experience
- 1 year lead experience
OR
- At least 8 years of finance experience
- 1 year lead experience

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Strong problem-solving ability; able to employ technical skills in a resourceful and creative manner
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; comfortable with communicating and presenting across all organizational levels, including Senior Leadership
- Ability to distill complex financial concepts/data/models into simple, concise reports
- Flexibility to effectively cope with change and to handle ambiguity
- Excellent time management skills – can prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet specific deadlines
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint (Intermediate), and Word (Intermediate)
- Comfortable with enforcing Navistar process and financial guidelines
- Work effectively in a team environment
