Job Description:

The Operational Intelligence Team is seeking a strong Sr Architect that will participate in the development and implementation of monitoring solutions aligned as core to the business information flows and systems architecture. This individual provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals aligned to the APS monitoring strategy. Recommends the appropriate monitoring capabilities in support of business process and is responsible for delivery of aligned capabilities across critical business applications. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; providing leadership in the execution of aligned as a team member or as an individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel.

Required SKills

• Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications

• 2+ years production systems engineering and/or support role

• Proven experience with monitoring tools such as – Tivoli, Splunk, Introscope, Sitescope, AppDynamics

• Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.

• Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)

• Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring

• Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting a multitude of products (Webserver, Middleware, Database, etc.)

• Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes

• An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels

• A Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills

• A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality

• Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting deadlines

Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
