Sidney Regional Medical Center is searching for a PRN Retail Pharmacist to join our team. This is an as-needed position supporting our SRMC Retail Pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serves patient by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medication by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals,
• Controls medications by monitor drug therapies; advising interventions.
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing pharmacy technicians’ work flow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges and inspections.
• Providers pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
• Develops hospital staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents and other health care professionals.
• Monitors medication orders for accuracy of dosage (in accordance to patient’s age, weight, and health status), frequency, indication, interactions and allergies.
• Verify the accuracy of order transcription, medication preparation, and unit dosing by Pharmacy Technician(s) or Pharmacy Intern(s).
• Disseminate drug information to health care providers and patients of various ages, cultural backgrounds, levels of understanding, with respect to their diversity.
• Patient safety advocate.
• Assist the Director of Pharmacy in attaining departmental goals and facility-wide strategic initiatives.
• Implementation and administration of the Durable Medical Equipment Program for SRMC.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• Minimum of 5 years of retail pharmacy management experience.
• Must have a current and valid Pharmacist license for the state of Nebraska without restrictions.
• CPR and BLS Certification required
