Job description
Perform multiple scientific analyses to evaluate the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods and ensures compliance with established standards. Conduct and validate multiple chemical quality control assays. Compile, interprets, and documents statistical data from testing processes to either confirm compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations. May establish specifications for conducting assays and writing standard operating procedures. Report to Quality Manager. Shift Fri. - Sun. 5:30 pm -5:30 am.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for both testing samples and conducting line audits including feedback to operators.
- Working knowledge of Excel (can perform complex functions) and MS Teams, SPC and Minitab required.
- Set up, adjusts, calibrates, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
- Experience with FTIR and NIR.
- Need to be available and willing to help cover other shifts when vacations or unexpected absences occur.
- Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher from a Two (2) year accredited college or technical school; or two (2) years related experience.
- Have documents such as work instructions, equipment operating and maintenance instructions manuals, safety rules and procedures.
- Deal with symbolism, e.g., formulas and scientific equations with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Is proficient in job-related/specific software, (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
