Quality Control Manager

The Quality Control Manager reports to VP of US operation. This position will lead activities in the Quality Control Department ensuring consistent product safety and quality of all products produced. The Quality Control Manager will ensure all plant quality control activity, from raw material inbound, to production release and sanitation. The Quality Control Manager interacts with the quality assurance manager and all other department of the plant

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follows programs and procedures to ensure that customer, company and regulatory specifications are met. Perform RCA analysis in case of quality issues and/ or complaints and implement action plan; in coordination with the quality assurance manager, ensure continuous improvement for those programs
• Participate for production line qualification. Provide leadership and oversight to all Quality laboratory associates, testing plan, and maintains a strong presence in the laboratory and on the production floor.
• Lead CIP Qualification and improvement program.
• Ensure Raw Material sampling and testing, analysis of results and release to production.
• Communicate to and train all associates, i.e., QA, Production and Maintenance, etc.) in procedures and SOPs prior to implementation. Knowledge of HACCP and GMP a plus. Key player in quality and chemical training in coordination with the training coordinator.
• Conducts and documents monthly audits of the facility in the areas of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), Pest Control, Glass and Brittle Plastic, SSOP/HACCP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure/Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and general facility condition.
• Based on findings of audits requests corrective actions/preventative measures for deficiencies. Assists with providing training to associates in these areas. This includes Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement on the shop floor.
• Develops and maintains lines of communication between Quality staff, Production Supervisors and Management to ensure that all are kept informed of issues found, corrective actions taken and any changes to programs and procedures.
• Knowledge of and inspection of production floor including HACCP and quality checks.
• Addressing all GMP and SSOP violations with both production management and team members.
• Understand and use statistics, SPC and process capability to drive improvement within the facility in food safety and quality of products.
• Comply with all Food Safety and Quality guidelines, escalating concerns to management team and assist with corrective action.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or relevant discipline preferred.
• Proven experience in a Quality role within a manufacturing facility. Food or beverage industry preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• GFSI audit experience and familiarity with FDA and USDA regulation.
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Must be self-motivated

Physical Demands:

This position will be required to sit at a desk, walk, climb, stand for long periods of time, stoop and lift up to 50lbs as necessary.

Position Type :
This is a full-time, salary position that requires the ability to adjust working hours dependent upon need of the plant.

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
