We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing various types of content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality. The ideal candidate has a passion for language and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all content is polished, error-free, and on brand.

Responsibilities:

• Act as lead writer for print promotions, online marketing sites, the products catalog, e-newsletters, banner ads, membership materials, awards programs and promotional emails.
  
  • Provide writing and editing for the website and fulfillment materials.
• Create, maintain and update promotional websites through a content management system.
• Copyedit and proofread print and web-based marketing promotions and special fulfillment materials.
  
  • Employ multiple writing styles dependent on the medium being used (e.g. web, email, print, banner ads, etc).
• Coordinate and implement the editorial stage for promotional and special publications to ensure that copy is accurate and effective.
• Uphold specific marketing strategies and schedules as determined by the marketing manager and director of integrated marketing in conjunction with the client.
• Serve as lead writer in the creative strategy development process.
  
  • Generate initial copy to be implemented in creative strategy execution.
  • Develop, describe, uphold and refine copy as needed in meetings with designers and clients.
  • Assist team with adherence to objectives from inception to production of print and electronic work.
  • Write, copyedit, and proofread promotional and fulfillment pieces to achieve objectives.
• Exhibit appropriate leadership toward and work cooperatively and supportively with all volunteers for which this position is responsible. This may include the Board, Districts, Commissions, and others.
• Collaborate with colleagues in other parts of the world to ensure the best sharing of effective practices.

Qualifications:

• Experience level: Experienced
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• A demonstrated interest in advancing education in the not-for-profit sector.
• A strong commitment to contributing to an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
• An understanding of and interest in engaging with a broad range of cultures and countries.
• Experience in and demonstrated understanding of promotional marketing.
• Must have demonstrated ability to edit promotional copy and know how to write for digital channels.
• Must have strong project management, detail-orientation, and organizational skills, especially in managing simultaneous projects, meeting deadlines, and meeting internal program manger's requirements and expectations.
• Must have strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel. Familiarity with Drupal and Informz is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, that allow engagement with levels of all stakeholders within an organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to lead and participate on teams.
• A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure and with all levels of staff.
