Project Engineer
Our Texas-based real-estate development firm is growing our in-house Engineering Department! We need a Land Development Civil Engineer to add to our growing team. This role will work a multitude of processes for varying projects including residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
Civil Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Perform Site Investigations, Due Diligence and Feasibility Studies for projects.
- Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Serve as a potential point-of-contact on land development project for Clients, review agencies, contractors, and internal planning surveying, and geotechnical departments.
- Perform design of land development projects within Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Perform and prepare technical design calculations associated with land development projects (i.e., storm drainage hydraulic sizing and system modeling, water distribution modeling, storm water control measures (SCMs), sanitary sewer collection systems, sanitary sewer pump stations and force main, erosion control measures, etc.).
- Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including but not limited to site investigation reports, quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost.
- Provide training/mentoring for junior members of the team.
- Assist management of project and staff schedules.
- Attend meetings with Clients, review agencies, and contractors throughout the various stages of the land development process.
- Perform site visits and prepare associated field reports.
- Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
- May work as an Assistant Project Manager or Assistant Project Engineer.

- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of qualifying civil engineering design
- Thorough knowledge of commercial and/or single family residential development.

- 8 hour shift
