Master Production Scheduler - 1st shift

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
This technical expert provides supervision and administration for effective production operations, customer order scheduling, production scheduling, manpower planning and materials control to allow the Plant to operate efficiently and deliver parts on time.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures which support total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, where applicable in relation to this position.
• Responsible for providing, for each employee in his/her reporting area, a safe workplace, proper training on the job and proper instruction concerning safety responsibilities and safety rules. Ensures that each employee's attitude and behavior promotes an accident-free work place.
• Responsible for the Sales & Operations Planning functions to ensure total customer satisfaction, internally and externally. Leads planning and cross-functional efforts to optimize operations, from order intake through production and delivery of finished goods.
• Responsible for providing effective scheduling systems and schedules for efficient plant operations, specifically including scheduling, and releasing of vendor materials (both internal and external), scheduling of parts, subassembly and final assembly.
• Provides manpower planning and forecasting data, for effective staffing of the Plant operations.
• Responsible for the level loading of production schedules throughout the Plant and the on-time delivery of finished goods to the customer. Works seamlessly with production department managers, purchasing and logistics to ensure proper flow of materials, parts and finished goods through the Plant.
• Responsible for on-time delivery to customers, internal and external.
• Responsible for efficient communication, through sales and customer service, of finished product lead times to internal and external customers.
• As a member of the management team, is responsible for maintaining a high level of morale among all employees, exempt and non-exempt, and for perpetuating a union-free environment. Strong lines of communication are to be kept open. Development of and fair treatment of all employees receives high priority.
• Responsible for contributing as part of the management team in converting the Plant to a product-focused plant, utilizing Just-In-Time and Total Quality Control operating practices, with emphasis on continual improvement in safety, quality, and the elimination of all forms of waste.

COMPUTER SKILLS

MS Office Suite
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills – including but not limited to Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Graphing and Charting

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Identified as technology owner and expert. Competency across multiple disciplines or technologies required. Strong leadership, organization and project management skills, and the ability to speak in front of groups of customers and/or employees. This position requires strong collaboration skills when prioritizing, planning and implementing projects. Exhibits above average ability to decipher functional processes and communicate both to technical as well as business resources. The ability to effectively present information, defend a position and address concerns is key to driving execution.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise FH, PNE and/or Exempt employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
Low to High varies dependent upon role and project assignments

SAFETY
Periodically exposed to machinery where safe operating procedures must be followed, occasional lifting of materials up to 30 lbs. is required, work environment may be noisy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
