True North Marine is an industry-leading Full-Service Shipyard, Marina and Dockside Service Company. We service both power and sail recreational vessels in the Clear Lake, Galveston, and surrounding areas of Texas where boating is a year-round adventure. Our market is considered the 3rd highest concentration of recreational vessels in the US and is located just minutes from the Houston metropolitan area on Galveston Bay.
Our premier shipyard includes a 75 metric ton Marine Travel Lift, a haul out slip and in the water work slips. The work slips allow our technicians the ease to work on-site with full access to the service shop and parts department. The recently constructed marina has 36 covered boat slips designed for 25’-35’ fishing/sport vessels along with 80 dry storage spaces for trailer-able boats and an accessible boat ramp.
We provide mechanical, electrical, electronic, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems installation, repair, and preventive maintenance services, as well as numerous other Yacht Support Services through our unique Captain-Lite Yacht Management Program.

The Sales Manager develops strategic plans and oversees the execution of such plans regarding parts/counter sales, parts and equipment purchasing, inventory management, warranty management, and vendor relations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a parts & counter sales strategic growth plan.
- Develop and execute an inventory management strategic plan in collaboration with the inventory manager.
- Develop and execute a parts and equipment purchasing strategic plan in collaboration with the purchasing agent.
- Manage and develop key vendor sales relationships.
- Manage the inventory manager and purchasing agent including a review of current policies and procedures leading to possible improvements of such policies/procedures.
- Assist the Executive Team as needed.
- Assist the Inventory Manager and Purchasing Agent as needed.
Leadership and Management Skills:
Primary leadership skills will focus on providing a consistent, supportive environment to company personnel through a strategic and consistent strategy to develop and execute a parts/counter sales growth plan, an inventory management plan, a vendor relations plan, and a purchasing strategic plan. Direct management over the inventory manager and purchasing agent will include collaborative initiatives and oversight of the inventory and purchasing areas.
The Sales Manager Skills:
- Sales and vendor relations experience desired.
- Interpersonal, customer service orientation.
- Management experience overseeing various departments desired.
- Detail oriented, organized, ability to focus.
- Ability to follow procedures and policies with an eye for continuous improvement around such policies/procedures.
- Industry experience and understanding considered, but not required.
- Strategic vision and ability to work with a leadership team.
- Collaborative approach with the inclination to assist the purchasing agent and inventory manager when needed - team player.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Operations, or similar fields desired; BA/BS Degree is required.
- Experience in management required.
- Experience is sales and customer relations required.
- Experience in vendor relations desired.
- Fully proficient computer skills required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
