A Brief Overview
The Market Research Manager will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing market research initiatives across consumer and physician audiences to provide insights for marketing efforts that support Stanford Medicine, Stanford Health Care, service lines and business units. This role will need to use qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and work with research vendors to analyze, interpret and communicate findings broadly to the marketing department and more specifically to cross-functional project teams. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytics, customer insight expertise, business acumen and communication skills. The Market Research Manager will work cross-functionally with marketing strategy, client engagement, data analytics, creative/content teams, and external research partners.

What you will do
Lead primary and secondary research initiatives to understand audience perceptions and behaviors and serve as subject-matter expert for audience trends, insights and research methods.
Synthesize data from a variety of sources into digestible and useful reports to be distributed cross-functionally, identifying and presenting key strategic implications and recommendations.
Analyze category and competitive dynamics and identify SHC’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT).
Inspire audience-centric best practices across internal teams including facilitating workshops when necessary to create deeper learning.
Development market segmentation framework and conduct analysis.
Manage testing for creative/message effectiveness working with cross functional teams and external vendors.
Contribute to campaign/channel specific testing strategies.
Manage research platforms and external vendors.
Develop a research roadmap for audience insight generation, category research and other insight gathering opportunities for the organization.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in business, business analytics, marketing, social sciences, statistics or related field.
Experience Qualifications
(7-10) Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong business acumen, curiosity and innovative thinker
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to design and recommend research approaches based on business needs and resource limitations
Experience with a broad array of primary research programs, including brand, advertising & positioning studies, awareness & usage, segmentation, thought leadership and customer experience research
Experience writing questionnaires, sampling strategies, research design, and analysis & interpretation
Understanding of available syndicated research tools and analytics solutions
Strong ability to extract meaning from data and convey in simple terms
Experience working within, structuring, and distilling large data sets
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
Experience with different market research tools and platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Q, SPSS, etc.)

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $54.17 - $71.77 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
