Job description

Responsibilities:

• Create or modify metal parts for product assembly lines using machine tools
• Follow detailed drawings and specifications to produce parts that meet quality standards
• Develop solutions for complex machining requirements using experience and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in manual lathes, mills, and surface grinder machines
• Perform drilling, tapping, and milling on manual mills
• Program and adjust offsets on CNC lathes, mills, and surface grinders
• Use CAD/CAM software such as Gibbs as necessary
• Set up and run speed cell machines
• Adhere to safety guidelines and utilize proper tools and gauging
• Plan the proper sequence of operations
• Complete machining work as needed to meet business requirements
• Support rework requirements for the assembly operation in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• On-the-job machining experience or certification from a vocational school
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with team members and support staff, be self-motivated, accept responsibility for one’s own work, and actively participate as a team member in a proactive manner
• Strong understanding of geometry and trigonometry as they relate to machining
• Understanding of different materials and their machining applications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
