Job description

• Provides safe and effective nursing care, including the delegation of selected activities to unlicensed assistive personnel within their scope of practice.
• Under the direction of the RN, participates in the development, implementation, evaluation and modification of plans for nursing care for the patient and their family
• Accessing central lines for medication administration or blood draws.
• Serves as the second team member in a two-person independent double check or skin assessments.
• Performs and documents physical assessments in the EHR.
• Delivers patient and family education including education specific to the discharge process.
• Inserts indwelling urinary catheters, Naso-gastric tubes with specific training and competency.
• Collects lab specimens, performs bladder scans and manages wound dressings including wound vacs.
• Participates in unit/hospital projects, which seek to improve patient care.
• Represents the organization in a professional manner in their interaction with others.
• Maintains communication with interdisciplinary practitioners to meet care objectives.
• Provides patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Coordinates activities of multiple disciplines to meet plan of care.
• Documents plan findings and evaluation according to policy.
• Assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Assumes responsibility for attendance according to policy.
• Meets requirements for mandatory in-services and programs for safety, emergency and competency.
• Supports the development of staff through mentoring, preceptorship and collegiality.
• Performs job functions specific to area.
• Maintains and supports patients’ rights to care, privacy and respect.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time within scope of practice

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

• LPN: 2 years (Preferred)
