Qualifications
•
Five years proven background in estimating Civil, Design-Build, and/or Building Construction projects
•
Familiar with Federal RFPs, both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build
•
Able to accurately read plans and interpret contract specifications
•
Able to perform and review accurate quantity take-offs
•
Experience with any estimating programs
•
Able to work on multiple, simultaneous bids
•
Familiar with bid package requirements and forms
•
Proficient in Excel and Word
•
Proficient in English, possessing good written and verbal skills
•
MORE FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
•
Experience in Project Management or federal Quality Control Management
•
Experience with B2W software
•
Experience with both vertical and horizontal construction
•
Santa Ana, CA 92701: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
•
Construction estimating: 5 years (Required)
Responsibilities
•
You’ll be part of a close-knit crew bidding on important Federal facilities such as hangars, drone training facilities, and secure offices
•
Search for and identify new projects to bid
•
Perform and review accurate takeoffs from drawings and specifications in all trades
•
For Design-Build projects, provide conceptual estimates
•
Set up bid items in estimating software
•
Create, send, and follow-up on bid invitations to subcontractors and materials suppliers, including ongoing bid updates (e.g., amendments, RFIs)
•
Attend job walks / site visits
•
Receive, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor bids for accuracy, realism, scope coverage, and relative cost
•
Review RFPs, IFBs, and other solicitations to make note of:
•
RFIs needed
•
Work with proposal department to prepare technical proposals and bid submission packages
•
Schedule and attend bid review meetings
•
Work directly with company principal to close out bids on bid day
•
Plan and organize your daily tasks to meet bid and proposal deadlines
•
Keep the estimating folder organized
•
When your bid is awarded, participate in a hand-off meeting to operations
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
