Spotify Advertising Business Marketing team mission is to inspire advertisers and marketers to connect with billions of fans! We are looking for a passionate, experienced thought leader to lead our Global Advertiser Research and Intelligence team. This team is the insights engine for our marketers and advertising partners that demonstrate the power of Spotify as an advertising platform and trusted partner. Collaboration is a key value at Spotify, and this individual must partner closely with various Spotify teams to develop scalable insights and intelligence that drives consideration.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a streaming intelligence and insights expert in internal, client specific, and industry-facing meetings and events.
  • Be a people leader, guiding a talented, high performing and diverse team to do the best work of their career.
  • Understand the sales business, being proactive and resourceful in order to achieve sales targets.
  • Foster a culture of leading with insights, working closely with our creative teams to highlight useful data in our proposals.
  • Develop revenue generating research products and innovative offerings to top 15 Global accounts, Agency Holding Companies, and Strategic Partners.
  • Implement foundational research that informs our Advertising business marketing strategy, which includes brand tracker, custom research, testing and panel.
  • Pioneer innovative new methodologies that uncover new insights about the effectiveness of advertising to our audience.
  • Build positive relationships with key partners, including Global Ad Sales and Global Agency Partnerships to craft and deliver an innovative strategy and roadmap for advertiser insights.
  • Encourage, develop and deliver thought leadership and future forward trend reports that position Spotify Advertising as an industry leader.
  • Present insights to internal teams and to clients with poise and a solutions-selling approach

Who you are

  • You have 12+ years experience in media industry research and insights role for an agency, publisher, or platform
  • Inherently curious and strategic problem solver able to see unexpected connections and “join the dots”; a believer in data-driven storytelling where creativity and objectivity meet.
  • A strong people manager who leads, teaches and coaches with care and empathy
  • Deep experience in all aspects of advertising sales research – including Ad EFX, return on investment, BLS studies, custom insights and thought leadership research.
  • Deep familiarity with the global measurement landscape, including Nielsen, Comscore, TGI, MRI and more.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical software, such as SPSS; strong skills in Excel and Powerpoint/Keynote
  • You have experience in building and leading large diverse Advertiser and Partner Insights teams at either a top global media company or agency
  • You have the ability to synthesize and use data to help craft a creative story, and you’re excited by the opportunity audio and digital offer to storytelling
  • Deep understanding of and enthusiasm for culture, technology, and advertising
  • Experienced with working cross-functionally across multiple collaborators, with a proven track record of working on creative and innovative solutions for brands
  • Dynamic and resourceful, able to plan for long-term initiatives while also achieving and fulfilling short-term business needs that make our revenue goals.
  • A compelling storyteller, at ease consulting internal and external audiences

The United States base range for this position is $194,979 - $278,542, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
