Job Title: Food Scientist
Location: Glenview, IL (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $80 per hour
Scheduled Days of the Week & Hours: M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 am CST
Duration: 06+ months

Job Description:
Food Scientist to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations

Responsibilities:

• Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for Food and beverage products
• Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
• Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
• Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests
• Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
• Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results
• Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
• Write progress reports
• Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies

Requirements:

• Must be available to work on-site in Glenview, IL
• Preferably, previous experience at Food and Beverage and familiarity with the Agile specification system.
• At minimum, B.S. in Food Science or similar field and 5 years of experience
• Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good record-keeping and organization
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Glenview, IL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
