SUMARY OF JOB: Works closely with Maintenance, Processing and Production to insure desired level of Sanitation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides cleaning process of machinery, kettles, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers and product lines.
• Apply Manufacturing Practices as well as Good Cleaning Practices.
• Ensures production equipment is properly labeled and tagged after being cleaned.
• Insuring safe handling of the same at all times.
• Reports to Maintenance any equipment concerns.
• Performs other related duties and special assignments as required.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Initiate request for cleaning and service supplies prior to stock out.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in neat and orderly manner.
• Use forklift to move totes and pallets out of way
• Perform other duties or special projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to follow some routine, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to maintain and operate powered cleaning, service equipment and trash compactor.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, pinching and grasping are possible.
• Ability to operate power equipment for material handling.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work in normal manufacturing environment with potential exposure to equipment movement, hazards and dangerous chemical solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
• Proper personal protective equipment required.
• Dirt, temperature extremes noise, dampness.
• Electrical shock.
• Obstacles, steps.
• Significant work pace/pressure

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalency desired.

Language: Must be able to effectively communicate to management critical needs and concerns regarding the performance of Sanitors. Must be able to write and speak English. Bilingual desired, however not mandatory.

Reasoning Ability: Thorough understanding of overall sanitation duties in order to properly assign work duties.

Physical Demands: Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Constant climbing, bending and reaching. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
