Why does the job exist?
Assists the Disability Adjudicator Supervisor by working closely with a team of Disability Adjudicators of all experience levels and meeting their production, processing time and accuracy job performance measures. This position will mentor, review, and direct work of others, as agency needs dictate.
How does it get done?
This position will process all types of Social Security Administration (SSA) disability claims, including Initial, Reconsideration, Continuing Disability Review and Pre-Hearing claims. This position will mentor new adjudicators and help the agency train disability adjudicators of all experience levels.

Ideal Candidate
Experience in successfully coaching and mentoring employees in a production/quality based work environment. Experience in successfully managing multiple tasks in a high stress environment. Experience in successfully adapting to constantly changing policies and internal business processes. Demonstration of high accuracy rate for both substantive and developmental accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstration of effective communication skills to a wide audience.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college/university and two (2) years or more of successful Social Security Administration disability adjudication of initial, reconsideration, and continuing disability review claims. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
