Position Summary
Responsible for developing and aligning a front-end and back-end product management to improve end-to-end CEJ and improve our lower funnel conversion, through partnering with cross-functional teams. The Director of Product Management will ensure the team is efficient and effective as they develop a best-in-class experience, deliver competitive features that lives up to our brand promise, create a high-converting customer experience and analyze market trends to identify new opportunities for the future including new sellout platforms. The position will need to create, sustain and leverage senior management-level relationships throughout the Retail, B2B, Carrier partners, all LOBs, and the broader technology community.
Role and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary owner of leading all product features across our eCommerce division. This person will drive Samsung eCommerce initiatives related to
- Lower funnel experiences on Cart, Checkout, Payment, Financing and Order processing services
- Carrier financing, activation and carrier locked phone sales customer experience
- Liaison between Samsung eCommerce and Carrier/Retail/Payment partners for product initiatives
- Innovate and automate various order management, carrier device fulfillment, activation and customer self-services to reduce manual overhead and improve customer satisfaction
- Work with cross-functional business, product and engineering team in designing product solution, finalizing estimate, budget and plan/prioritize by building a strong roadmap, and launch product on timely fashion with excellent business impact and strong customer focus
- Developing strategies to improve lower funnel conversion and reduce cart abandonment, and partnering with engineering to ensure strong execution, covering both web and mobile experiences
- Identify retail trends and synthesize information and partnerships across multiple cross-functional touch points, providing goals, communicating business needs and drive solutions in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment
- Build aspirational product stories and marketing assets. Work with site merchandising/marketing partners and Customer service to generate traffic drivers for distinct customer profiles through category messaging and promotions including upsell/cross-sell during checkout
- Be data centric to make informed product direction, whether in the form of competitive intel, customer behavior or other business metrics. Solicit and embrace critical feedback
- Drive innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap) and design of entirely new products and features to deliver against team and company goals
- Leader responsible for people management as well as building strong team of product and design team
Skills and Qualifications
Background and Experience Required
- 15+ years of experience with 10+ years in Product Management driving product engineering
- Strong eCommerce experience required with technical acumen
- Having prior experience on the consumer electronics space is a huge plus especially in the carrier plan and device management, financing/EIP programs, Payment processing, order management and customer service operations space
- Strong background using data to determine customer behaviors
- Proactive individual that is a self-starter and takes initiative
- A “leader” personality - biased toward action, great collaborator and master disambiguator/simplifier - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
- Experience managing teams across disparate locations
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
