Summit Technologies, Inc. has a potential opportunity for a Desktop Engineer II (Mid-level). This position is for a Senior Microsoft Windows Active Directory Administrator with migration experience to support a Windows Active Directory migration from 2003/2008 to the most recent version. This on-site position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA and requires an active DoD Secret clearance.Role and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Server Operations, Application and Middleware teams to develop, test and implement the migration strategy from 2003/2008.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory, this includes implementing GPOs to support the implementation of STIG settings on file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers and application servers.
- Produce the SOPs used for the Production deployment.
- Gather requirements and help plan and implement system solutions for a Windows platform.
- Resolve issues using the Remedy Ticketing system.
- Work with virtual infrastructure (VMWare).
- Work with LAN/WAN and wireless interfaces.
- Deploy and support Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2016 STIG.
- Work with web servers, databases, networks, cabling, new installations, migrations, and security scanning tools.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues including desktops, laptops and peripheral devices.
- Fully document processes and procedures.
- Develop and sustain productive customer relationships.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Experience building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in multi-tenant enterprise environments.
- Experience working with Enterprise Backup software.
- Experience with Windows migrations and managing Windows systems.
- Experience managing and upgrading Microsoft Active Directory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree
- MCSE or MCSA certified
- HDI Support Center Analyst Certification (Must obtain within 90 days of hiring)
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Updated resume including MM/YYYY for each employer
