GLC Government Services is seeking Phlebotomist to work a Full Time Government Contract.

Location: Coleman FL

Setting: FCI Coleman Correctional Facility

Contract: Ongoing Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Weekly hours will not exceed 35 per week.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid certification to practice in the state of Florida as a Phlebotomist.
• Graduation from an accredited school or program for Phlebotomy.
• CPR Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience with specimen collection, packaging, and shipment to referral laboratories.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Scope of Work:

• Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patient’s vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
• Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD updates.
• Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the BPA or BOP
• Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly, and all reports are returned from the BPA lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file results in lab and medical record.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
• Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies.
• Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the laboratory program.
