The Claims Supervisor, Operations will oversee a unit of claim operations associates. The unit handles a variety of functions related to property claims, including, but not limited to dispatching, rental claim handling, salvage processing, subrogation assistance and switchboard functions. In addition, the unit also has responsibilities with regards to testing and support of all IT systems that claims associates utilize on a daily basis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Direct and control the work of Claims Operations Associates.
  • Establish and monitor unit goals for service, production and work quality.
  • Plan unit workflow and monitor assignment of claims to unit members based on complexity, severity, and volume
  • Review active and closed files in compliance with Quality Assurance program to identify trends, provide direction, and provide feedback to unit.
  • Provide management with monthly analysis of quality trends and performance of claims associates.
  • Prepare Tableau analysis for property unit.
  • Conduct individual and group training on all aspects of the job.
  • Conduct performance reviews and counseling sessions, write performance appraisals and monitors attendance.
  • Make recommendations for promotions, staff changes, and salary.
  • Must be willing to travel to the other claim locations.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university strongly recommended.
  • Minimum 4 years of insurance and/or claims experience.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have strong knowledge of claims applications including STREAM, Image Right, Client Letter/ACES and Microsoft Office Suite.
