Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: Full time
Position Summary:
Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions for HealthTexas Medical Group, which includes Business Intelligence applications, technical troubleshooting, complex report development, and standard report administration. The individual in this position have a strong understanding of both Business Intelligence capabilities and Data Warehouse environments. Including, but not limited to hands- on experience using Microsoft technologies to implement data integration, data warehousing, analytics and reporting (e.g. reports, scorecards, and dashboards).
Qualifications:
Three (3) years of work experience in an Information Technology environment and four (4+) years plus of hands-on experience in developing Business Intelligence solutions.
Extensive experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL (solid skill in T-SQL for functions, stored procedures and scripts);
Creating, maintaining, and deploying ETL solutions using SSIS from multiple disparate source systems.
Experience designing and using SSIS execution framework capabilities to administer running packages.
Experience developing interactive reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI etc.
Experience in Github Repository and Source Control.
Good knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Warehousing.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Extensive experience in writing detailed requirements of user needs.
Other requirements include demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems; excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and demonstrated organizational skills and thoroughness.
SQL Server Analysis Services (MDX code development)
Nice to have Optimization using SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor and Query Execution Plans.
Bachelor 's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field or equivalent
Any current Microsoft Certifications in SQL Server a huge plus
Must be currently authorized to work in the US
Healthcare experience is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Use sound judgment, technical expertise and understanding of information needs to develop, test and implement business intelligence (BI) solutions that match the needs of HealthTexas Medical Group personnel.
2. Actively participate in development and upgrade projects; work with project team members to determine conceptual solution design; analyze existing BI products, data structures, reports, and data visualizations.
3. Lead business intelligence solution design efforts. Participate in data model walkthroughs, develop and maintain procedures, and participate in performance and tuning testing.
4. Provide expertise in data visualization and related design techniques; understand and communicate data visualization capabilities; lead design sessions for dashboards while understanding the different means of acquiring data for a dashboard (direct DB query, extracts, etc.) and recommend the best data acquisition solution for the development of a dashboard.
5. Maintain and support existing business intelligence solutions. Answer staff questions, troubleshoot problems, modify existing products, and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation.
6. Interact with a variety of business, data and information technology personnel to develop effective BI solutions.
7. Develop and maintain procedures related to the scheduling and automation of enterprise standard reports.
8. Maintain knowledge of industry standard BI development practices (report development, data analysis, data visualization and interaction) and apply expertise to plan, design, and develop BI solutions.
9. Provide input and support for upgrades, capacity planning, and best practices.
10. Other duties as assigned.

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
