The Avionics Organization has opening s for Avionics Systems Manager - BCA (first level) in Everett, WA .

Avionics Integration Role:
Oversee engineers, Technical Designers, and Project Managers to integrate activities across various Avionics functions. This include support in developing data for the various functions, supporting design releases, and integrating change across the organization.

This position is responsible to lead the development of our Production Development strategies across the organization. (If you want to be more specific) This includes development activities on the 777-8F, Technologies development, and support for the Future airplane development.

Lead a team of Systems integration engineers to develop common processes and tools within avionics for current and future programs. This includes Model Based Systems Engineering processes, Development Assurance plans in accordance with ARP-4754, and Systems Engineering tools and processes.

Avionics Navigation Equipment Role:
This leader will lead the navigation equipment development across BCA airplane programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team focused on system requirements, verification, and certification. This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing and motivating direct reports.

The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources.

This manager will proactively collaborate with program leadership teams and airplane systems teams to establish relationships that enable the cross-functional team to deliver results.

Certification Leader Role:
In this role you will lead a team of Engineering Unit Members (E-UMs) working across complex Electronic Systems in their compliance finding activities ensuring compliance to our Boeing processes.

This role will require close partnership with the Electronic Systems (Avionics and Electrical Subsystems) leaders, Commercial Airplane Program leaders, and Boeing Certification stakeholders.

This role requires advocating for the E-UMs in their compliance activities to ensure the successful certification of our products as well as supporting E-UMs in training and talent pipeline growth.

Position Responsibilities:
Manage a team of up to 20 employees performing system design and requirements, verification, integration and/or certification activities.

Supervise team execution plans to achieve performance expectations.

Provides approval of work group technical approaches, products and processes.

Ensures work group products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.

Engage effectively with suppliers’ leadership to develop plans and processes and oversee project execution in support of program milestones.

Interacts directly with program management to provide status on programs and projects.

Forecasts resource needs and obtain and manage personnel to meet project and daily operating requirements.

Collaborate proactively with peers and stakeholders, implement policies and lead process improvement activities.

Support direct reports in their professional and personal development goals.

Acquire resources for projects.

Engineering oversight of suppliers.

Lead Process Improvements.

Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, peers, and direct reports.

Supporting the Functional Cert Leader and E-UM Administrator in ensuring regulatory policy communication within the functional area, including distribution to E-UM Advisors, E-UMs, and E-UMs in training (E-UMITs).

Support the Functional Cert Leader and E-UM Administrator to ensure resolution of issues and concerns and to protect the E-UMs from undue pressure.

Forecast and develop plans to maintain an adequate number of appropriately delegated E-UMs that are available for the work statement, based on BCA program requirements.

Prioritizing work and eliminating/mitigating roadblocks.

Develop, grow, and mentor the team.

Attract, hire and retain talent and support direct reports in their professional and personal development goals.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidates will be required to work onsite at the listed location option.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering

5+ years of experience in an engineering role

1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years prior experience with avionics equipment

3+ years prior experience with certification processes

Experience working with a development program for large aircraft

Ability and or demonstrated experience in managing both a local team, and geographically dispersed international teams

Prior management experience or currently a manager

Pilots license

Experience in flight deck design

Summary pay range: $147,050 - $198,950
