Job Duties: The Aviation Programs Instructor is a highly qualified and experienced teacher that will lead aviation programs for high school students. The instructor will impart skills required for drone creation/operation, aircraft maintenance, and airplane pilot ground school. The course focuses on developing aerospace skills but also includes life skills assessments and education, and financial literacy courses. This is a paid part time position. This is a paid, part time position.

Job Responsibilities:

· Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons on drone operation, aircraft maintenance, and airplane pilot ground school

  • Develop lesson plans that align with the program's goals
  • Identify and assess student learning gaps and provide appropriate support and interventions
  • Help students identify learning gaps in reading, writing and/or emotional areas
  • Collaborate with other instructors and program staff to ensure program goals are met
  • Attend and participate in program meetings (daily/monthly/quarterly) and professional development activities
  • Provide a safe and positive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate student records and report progress to program administrators
  • Create, administer and grade exams that test student knowledge
  • Answer student questions and provide support to help them succeed
  • Give presentations and organize activities to present material and explore understanding of course work

Job Qualifications:

· Must have a minimum of 2 years of satisfactory teaching experience

· Experience teaching in a classroom setting, as well as experience in aviation (civilian or military).

· Experience identifying learning gaps in reading, writing and/or emotional areas (empathy, leadership, development…etc.) is preferred.

· Experience in aviation (civilian or military) is preferred

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively with underrepresented student populations

· Have passion for aviation and a desire to inspire students to pursue careers in the field.

· Have passion for working with high school students

· Ability to be adaptable

· Ability to resolve conflict

Job Conditions:

· Working outside conducive to weather conditions

· Working around aviation equipment

· Sitting and standing for long periods of time

· Work in both classroom and office settings

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Teaching: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:
