We are looking for an experienced Automobile Technician / Mechanic to join our growing team. Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining vehicles. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming at maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to provide advice to customers.

Our Delivery Service helps the community of Beloit young and old, sick or healthy, shut-ins or when you're in a pinch and you're just stuck and can't get out. Just look at our delivery service as if it's an extension of yourself. We make Beloit mobile, we deliver from every kind of store possible (all restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and more).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters
• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage
• Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
• Conducting routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
• Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Minimum Requirements & Physical Abilities

• Proven experience as an auto mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Excellent physical condition
• A high school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred
• Valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a definite plus
