THIS POSITION
As an Assistant Land Surveyor you will be a part of our Gas Transmission and Distribution team responsible for performing survey related research, boundary analysis, calculations, exhibits, plats and legal descriptions for a variety of land development and public works related projects from small infill developments to large master-planned communities and public related improvement projects throughout Nevada. Your previous office and field experience in the surveying industry will be critical for analyzing needs, communicating issues, and solving problems successfully. The position also includes responsibilities such as:

Review construction plans and perform calculations for layout staking and prepare exhibits.

Prepare work plans and coordinate field crews.

Compile data to prepare maps, documents and deliverables for boundary surveys

Heavy civil construction staking

Compute and manipulate digital terrain models for topographic mapping in AutoCAD Civil 3-D.

Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of final maps, parcel maps, record of survey and ALTA maps; and prepare and/or oversee preparation of legal descriptions and associated plats, and boundary analysis, as well as work closely with engineers to ensure coordination of technical surveying and engineering aspects of a project.

Research records of survey, ALTA/ACSM surveys, lot line adjustments/easement acquisitions, and be able to perform outside field survey work
- Work with Municipal, County and State Staff to perform necessary surveying documents as directed by a Surveying Manager or Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5+ years of previous experience in land surveying and mapping of civil land development and public infrastructure projects.
- Land Surveyor in Training (L.S.I.T) Certification preferred
- Previous experience and good working knowledge with AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS. and/or Microstation
- Strong communication skills to express work in a timely and effective manner within teams and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on project.
- A strong desire to excel and advance in a fast paced, challenging, client focused environment
- Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and coordinate/ follow-up with multiple priorities, while managing time effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work with a high degree of problem solving with little supervision; exercising independent judgment in completion of work, including directing engineering activities to complete project.
- A competitive, client oriented personality with a knack for creative problem solving will succeed in this position
LOCATION
- We are strategically located near Las Vegas, Nevada (Clark County) to best serve the needs of our clients
- This position is located in our Henderson, NV office and requires occasional off-site meetings or client site visits
