Job Description
Media & Digital Analytics
- Identify & define measurable objectives & benchmarks for key digital marketing communications activities (for example: programmatic media, social media, search, digital point of sale tools, mobile apps, etc.)
- Track critical metrics, perform analysis of data, and present insights across media channels.
- Work independently as the key resource for day-to-day media and digital analytics needs.
- Proactively investigate and troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.
- Develop local market insights to communication strategy, planned tactics and execution.
- Be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Apply strong consumer & shopper journey understanding to lead, inspire and enable marketing communications teams to develop performance indicators that are measurable and important to campaign performance.
- Assess the digital marketing measurement process on a regular basis and recommend improvements as needed (i.e. continuous improvement and optimization of media and digital tactics).
- Ensure accurate tracking across the full funnel, incorporating retail media measurement as appropriate.
- Lead discussion and implementation of sophisticated campaign attribution models and innovative measurement solutions.
- Experience with analytics programs such as Power BI, Tableau, Site Catalyst, etc.
Ad Operations
- Upload, QA, and approve creative tags within various ad platforms, including ad servers and DSPs. Familiarity with ad servers and platforms such as The Trade Desk, Google Ads, DV360, Bing, GA, Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect, Sprinklr, etc. is critical.
- Serve as internal expert on floodlight pixels; generate tracking tags in the platforms & troubleshooting with internal and external partners & retailers.
- Act as in-house platform expert and partner concern point on product and technology issues.
- Document best practices and seek out opportunities to improve existing processes.
- Assist in the development of new internal products and in the vetting and onboarding of any new ad platforms, vendors & services.
Digital Management
- Provide a technical authority for all technical issues involved in running online ad campaigns (including trafficking of remarketing capabilities, VAST/In-Stream Video, Rich Media and Audio).
- Work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure that appropriate materials are received and/or distributed accurately.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and Third Party Ad Servers (DoubleClick DCM).
Internal & Agency Cross-Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support business planning process through providing important metric recommendations across all communication channels.
- Work with internal and agency teams to improve data quality within each platform.
- Work with media, creative and analytics teams at the onset of a campaign to identify and implement all creative and technical requirements.
- Handle relationships with external vendors (such as DSPs, verification vendors, rich media companies, media publishers, research firms, etc.) in the activation of in-house and agency-led media campaigns.
- Lead agency & internal resources to produce compelling monthly campaign performance reviews and detailed campaign performance dashboards, while ensuring the accuracy of each deliverable.
- Develop & maintain performance scorecards; communicate and facilitate agency QBR data requirements and reporting.
Business Perspective
Provide subject matter expertise within the paid media and digital activation space.
- Clearly communicate the impact of results of critical initiatives, business results and ROI, and present strategic opportunities to key stakeholders.
- Research and recommend standard processes in reporting and analysis, as well as emerging trends: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Recognize recurrent or potential issues and problems, and know when to raise and propose solutions, where possible.
Skills/Background Required:
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills with the ability to identify, collect, coordinate, and analyze data – from primary and secondary sources, qualitative and quantitative, structured and unstructured
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Expertise in developing visualizations that tell the story using BI Tools, e.g., Power BI
- Critical thinking
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to navigate a matrixed environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or related area
- Graduate degree preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years proven track record in analytics
