Compensation:

Salary Range: $58,031- $73,913 (Start Rate: $50,459)

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, incumbent will provide administrative assistance to Labor Relations managers, handling confidential records, which includes scheduling discipline and grievance matters for represented employees of various bargaining units within the contractual mandated time limit. Typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, creating calendars and sending out notification letters; data collection and entry; storing and distributing disciplinary and contract grievance awards and stipulations in a timely manner; processing case closeouts including updating files; document control and record retention; checking reports for errors, preparing error reports and tracking transactions; generating reports utilizing PeopleSoft 9.2 or other Authority-authorized software (ARMS). The incumbent will provide office support to the Office of the Deputy Chief, Labor Relations, as needed, and other Labor Relations managers in preparing correspondence (email, memoranda, meeting agenda and/or minutes), charts, graphic tables, spreadsheets and related documents; respond to Labor Relations inquiries and general administrative matters as well as liaise with all levels of internal and external agency clients and outside consultants.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from a senior high school and five years of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience in administrative work, including (1) year in a responsible secretarial or supervisory capacity; or
  • A baccalaureate degree, is issued upon completion of a four-year course in a an accredited college or university and one (1) year of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience in a responsible secretarial or supervisory capacity; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and union personnel
  • Strong PeopleSoft/EIS skills and proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements, NYC Transit Policies, Rules/Regulations, and MTA All-Agency Policies

Other Information:
