How you will impact the organization…

The Account Executive, Federal Government is a member of the Consensus Cloud Solution Enterprise sales team in the United States and is responsible for prospecting and closing new logos.

The Account Executive, Federal Government is a pure "hunter" role, with a strong focus on generating new business. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Cloud-IT procurement, FedRAMP High, the related processes and decision making of the Federal Government. They will ideally have existing relationships with key agency personnel and the ability to hit the ground running on day one. This Sales professional is responsible for establishing new relationships and then managing and expanding those relationships directly, as well as, through and with our strategic partners and system integrators. The focus will be around SaaS products and solutions primarily targeting the Federal Government vertical and the correlating partner ecosystem.

Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Sales, the Account Executive, Federal Government will be highly engaged in prospecting for new customers directly as well as through our partners. They will collect and provide inputs for products, solutions and services to the company as well as provide competitive and opportunity feedback to the company.

This is a hunter role with the expectation of a high number of in-person meetings that are initiated, scheduled, and managed by the sales professional.

  • Maintaining and fostering relationships with key prospects and accounts.
  • Actively working to uncover additional needs and identify opportunities for Consensus to provide additional value.
  • Researching and prospecting new business opportunities collaboratively with our strategic partners.
  • Leveraging calling, networking tools, email, and all available methods to generate net new leads resulting in the pipeline, and eventually revenue.
  • Initiating, delivering and following up on quotes for existing and prospective clients.
  • Delivering targeted presentations to senior managers and decision-makers.
  • Developing and increasing public sector knowledge by participating in professional memberships, associations, publications, and events.
  • Establishing and cultivating strong relationships with internal teams to drive revenue and sales.
  • Providing feedback to Consensus leadership regarding market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your leaders

What you will bring to the table…

  • 7+ years sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT selling to private sector or large corporations.
  • 5 + years federal government sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT
  • A proven record of accomplishment of successfully selling high tech products and/or SaaS services to the federal government.
  • 5+ years connecting with and conversing with "C" suite executives in our partners' world as well as with high ranking decision driving officials in the relevant agencies.
  • 5+ years document and information security experience.
  • Ability to travel sufficient to build and support the territory and also required sales meetings and events.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively from home office.

  • 10 + years sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT selling to federal government
  • BA/BS Degree preferred
  • Deep knowledge of the FedRAMP High marketplace and corresponding processes

  • Location requirements:
  • Travel requirements: Up to 30% domestic travel. Must have reliable source of transportation for potential customer needs.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as, handle long periods of screen time.
  • Technology requirements: Reliable, high speed internet
  • Work authorization / Security clearance: No

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$130,000. The total compensation package for this position is negotiable and may also include [annual performance bonus, ESPP, enhanced time off packages and benefits.]
