Position: Youth Development Professional II

Locations Available: LaVenture MS, Mount Baker MS, Mt Vernon HS, Mount Vernon Club, Lucille Umbarger, or Sedro-Woolley

Supervisor: Club Director or Site Coordinator

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Wage: $19.00 - $20.06/hr DOQ/DOE

Hours: 20 - 29 Hours Weekly

General Description:

Under the supervision of the Club Director or Site Coordinator, the Youth Development Professional is responsible for helping to implement a variety of programs and activities that lead to three priority outcomes for youth: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Youth Development Professionals visibly enjoy working with youth and creating an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age, minimum
  • Must be over 21 years of age to work at Middle School Club Sites
  • Must be over 23 years of age to work at High School Club Sites
  • High School Diploma minimum, or 18 and actively engaged in completion of a Diploma or GED, AA preferred
  • Ability to remain poised, positive and energetic in a busy work environment
  • Ability to communicate well using written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use technology applications including Google Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, partners, parents, and community
  • Incorporates organizational Values of Fun, Respect, Integrity, Community, and Acceptance into all practices
  • Preference for experience working with youth; experience can include volunteering in youth programs, documented babysitting, or other situational involvement regarding the safety, well-being, and development of youth
  • Preference of candidates with familiarity and training in YPQA/I
  • Preference for Bilingual/literate candidates; $.50/hr for spanish-speaking and willing to translate and/or $.75/hr for spanish-literate and willing to translate written materials

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement programs and activities for youth and teens that provide a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence, utilizing existing curriculum from Boys & Girls Clubs of America in addition to local initiatives
  • Provide a safe environment for all participants, staff, partners, and families
  • Assist in creating a learning environment celebrating discovery and achievement
  • Assist in the collection of data, administration of surveys, and contribute to a continuous cycle of quality improvement
  • Manage and request all supplies, materials, and support in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized working environment
  • 21+ may be requested to drive 15 passenger minibus vehicles with training provided
  • Other duties as assigned
