American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Weld Engineer in Springboro, Ohio.

Job Summary

Leverage previous knowledge and experience to support manufacturing engineering supporting production while developing prototype weld/automation processes, performing welding DOE’s, data collection, managing minor updates to process and support production at TC while Sr Engineers support Springboro or vice-versa.

Responsibilities

• Help ABS-TC manufacturing team in the initial development and production of new products.
• Maintain prototype production welding system while production is running.
• Assist with production startup and debug at Springboro as needed.
• Assist with DFA / DFM reviews and help design / assemble tooling for the upcoming product builds.
• Ensure prototype welding equipment is ready for production (Daily PVC: Process Verification Checklist).
• Perform Necessary start of shift weld quality verification.
• Assist with DOE testing related to Laser welding and ultrasonic wire bonding.
• Assist or perform sample prep, for cross-sectioning as needed.
• Review cross-sections and document results.
• Assist with maintaining Process Flow, Control Plan, and Work Instruction documentation and release.
• Support build & quality activities as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications

• BS in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology.
• Previous experience with laser welding and/or ultrasonic wire bonding.
• Previous experience with cross-sectioning of welds and analysis.
• Previous experience with programming FANUC robots for welding or cutting.
• SolidWorks Cad experience and willingness to improve.
• Battery welding experience is preferred.
