Description
We are looking for a Warehouse Worker to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Warehouse Worker responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, and sorting orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, and ship)
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Handling, sorting, stacking lumber according to dimension, species, and grade
- Properly identify any defects, limited or prohibited, to customer standards and specifications
- Preform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Report any discrepancies
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
Requirements
- Work at a moderate pace, as well as a fast pace when needed
- Proficient in simple math; add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Good attendance
- Ability to listen and follow instructions
- hand-eye coordination
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Forklift experience
- Experience in lumber industry, experience with cedar is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics are best defined as an outdoor environment with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, precipitation, and wind. Employees will have moderate exposure to noise in warehouse, including exposure to higher noise levels associated with power equipment in the trim room.
Salary
- $22-$27 per hour. For individuals who are highly experienced with lumber and have forklift experience.
- $16 and up per hour. For individuals who have some warehouse experience and are willing to listen and learn. Must be motivated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $27.00 per hour
