Job Description Summary

To serve as the Administrative Coordinator for the SCTR Research Nexus Clinic and Lab. Primary
responsibilities are focused on providing direct support to the department as it relates to the
outpatient clinic coordination and productivity. Duties will include clinical scheduling, clinic
operations and support of the clinic and lab staff. Customer service and effective communication
is an important requirement as this position engages with a wide range of individuals including
patients, investigators and study team members. This team member must be willing to adapt to a
regularly changing environment that can require duties outside the routine responsibilities. The
employee will report directly to the Nurse Manager and maintain an accountability to the
Administrator of the SCTR Research Nexus.

Job Description

To serve as the Administrative Coordinator for the SCTR Research Nexus Clinic and Lab. Primary responsibilities are focused on providing direct support to the department as it relates to the outpatient clinic coordination and productivity. Duties will include clinical scheduling, clinic operations and support of the clinic and lab staff. Customer service and effective communication is an important requirement as this position engages with a wide range of individuals including patients, investigators and study team members. The employee will report directly to the Nurse Manager and maintain an accountability to the Administrator of the SCTR Research Nexus.

Job Duties

25%-Assist with clinic flow to include patient registration, generation of visit paperwork, patient check in, filling and communication with appropriate study teams. Coordinate with other front desk staff for daily coverage and prioritize duties. Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers, maintains open communication lines, and understands Federal, State, MUSC Enterprise, University and department policies, procedures, and guidelines as it relates to their position responsibilities.

25%- General office management to include office supplies, dietary supplies, clinical/lab supplies, filing.

20%- Assist with process and quality assessment and improvement to impact clinic/lab operations and improve department metrics. Current quality assessments include patient satisfaction survey, PI study team satisfaction.

15%- Oversight of room set-up and maintenance. Regular check of rooms and clinic for overall cleanliness and general maintenance.

10%- Provide direct administrative support to Research Nexus Administrator, Clinic and Lab Manager, Clinic/Lab staff.

5%- All other tasks as assigned by Administrator and Managers.

MUSC Requirements

A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
