Transportation/Traffic Engineer | Boston, MA
VHB’s growing Boston, MA office is seeking a mid-level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and traffic/civil engineers on a variety of public, private-sector and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including real estate development, municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal lands, and aviation.
Responsibilities
- Design/planning of transportation engineering projects
- Work with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas to develop mobility solutions that consider all users integrating Complete Street concepts within urban and suburban communities
- Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses, including traffic, active transportation, and transit
- Perform planning and concept design of intersection improvements, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridors
- Prepare traffic impact, corridor, and intersection improvement studies
- Conduct research, prepare reports, and present findings and results to clients
- Create effective and engaging figures and data visualization to convey concept designs and data analyses
- Support the development of proposals, scopes of work, and track project budgets
- Lead project tasks

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in the civil/transportation engineering/planning fields; experience at a consulting firm a plus
- Licensed EIT or PE strongly preferred
- Experience with Synchro and HCS required
- Experience with AutoCAD a plus
- Experience with PTV VISSIM a plus
