Position Summary:

Coordinate transportation requirements for customer orders. Monitor and analyze freight expenses to ensure they are consistent with approved budget. Assist in investigating and analyzing all freight and non-compliance issues. Provide routing and in-transit time for major accounts.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Route and organize pick-ups of customer orders utilizing customer web portals, email, or phone as necessary to ensure timely shipment and delivery per customer demand

• Provide the Distribution Supervisor and the Order Processing Coordinator with transit time for the major accounts, Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Albertson’s, and others.

• Work with Distribution, Finance and Quality Assurance to monitor the SLOB report, and S warehouse inventory.

• Monitor negative inventory report and slow-moving items to ensure product is dispositioned in a timely manner to prevent shelf-life issues.

• Run the daily Manifest for Amazon, Target, and Office Depot.

• Assist Distribution Analyst in investigating compliance issues related to lost in transit and determine corrective action.

• Assist in coordinating outside projects. This involves transporting product to third-party vendors for development and then shipping completed displays to approved customer locations.

• Monitor and update customer routing guides in Distribution drive to maintain most current information related to shipping requirements. Assist in providing the Distribution team with an easy-to-follow format with all the shipping requirements

• During peak periods assist Distribution in processing and staging orders as needed including adding placards to truck loads and updating picked & held orders.

• Assist the Senior Manager Logistics in analyzing expenditures and other financial information to develop plans and procedures for improving transportation cost.

• Assist the Senior Manager Logistics in managing and analyzing freight budget and sub-accounts.

• Provide monthly reporting regarding performance and quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement related to transportation.

• Assist Senior Manager Logistics in coordinating and implementing transportation policies and procedures. This includes documenting as well as on-going review and updates where needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree plus a 2 – 3 years of experience managing transportation in a consumer goods service environment.

Skills Required:

Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential. Strong analytical, mathematical and negotiation skills required. Ability to communicate effectively, motivate, support, train, develop and recognize people is essential. Must be PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software.
