POSITION SUMMARY:

The Traffic Manager will develop and maintain an effective workflow in traffic office and on dock. Pro-actively works with operations manager and order processors to meet customer requirements regarding routing and outbound shipping. Plans, monitors, and adjusts operating schedules to reflect business needs. Responsible for outbound scheduling and the processes that drive shipping results.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Ensures timely order routing (i.e. cancel dates, customer priorities, ship dates, etc.)

  • Manage current dock log to ensure accurate staging location information and aged orders are addressed. Aid in the creation of a new dock log that could include WMS driven staging process for outbound dock including training of the outbound team in any new process and procedures.

  • Manages / leads shift transitions, maintains / ensure smooth workflow transitions among shifts

  • Provide training of current and new employees in all appropriate procedures and processes required to complete work assignments

  • Provide inspired leadership for the organization

  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale

  • Provide daily work assignments to the team. Work with other area managers to ensure labor /staffing balance, proper workflow to the dock. Monitor and communicate with processing area managers proper flow to ensure shipping / customer SLA’s are met.

  • Maintain clean, neat, and organized work area including wrap stations, dock staging area, parcel ship area and office.

  • Analysis of or delegation of all shipping related issues required reports

  • Immediately troubleshoot identified problems

  • Interacts with internal and external customers of Implus shipping

  • Maintain a relevant safety documents and or records for job duties/ functions including but not limited to PIT (powered industrial trucks) certification, daily equipment safety checklist, equipment repairs logs, motorized conveyor safety, etc.

  • Other duties as directed by Senior Management


Key Skills:


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage individuals and/or work teams

  • Demonstrated order fulfillment and automated systems control knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks according to an established priority

  • Ability to apply logic and problem-solving method


Desired Skills and Experience:


  • 3-5 yrs. working in a medium to large scale product warehouse operation

  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • Proficiency with MS-Office software and Warehouse Management Systems

  • International shipping experience preferred


Education and Certifications:


A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or related experience.

  • Visual Abilities: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, read reports, create presentations, and use a computer system.

  • Lifting, Pulling, Pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Predictable attendance on site

  • Using a standard computer keyboard and monitor

  • 25 pounds. with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Work has deadlines, multiple interruptions and may be stressful at times.

  • Work may require occasional travel

  • Exposure to machinery with moving parts

  • Exposure to moderate noise level (less than noise hazard)

  • Non-Climate control warehouse, exposure to temperature changes

  • Occasional exposure to open air, warehouse setting
