Reporting Responsibilities:
The Toddler Teacher reports directly to the Center Director, Assistant Director and Business Manager.
Job Description:
The Toddler Teacher will implement the early childhood program as designed by the Learning Experience while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the safety and welfare of the children. The Toddler Teacher will serve in a lead-teaching capacity based on center enrollment. The Toddler Teacher will guide and train the Co-Toddler Teacher in all daily classroom functions.
Qualifications:
The Toddler Teacher must comply with the minimum educational standards as set forth by the company and current governmental regulations.
Experience:
Previous experience in a group program for children under six years of age- may include supervised student teaching or practice teaching.
Requirements and Certifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Be of good character and reputation
- Be of sufficient physical, mental and emotional health to perform job duties satisfactorily
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Possess skills, attributes and characteristics conducive to and suitable for dealing with children
- Must speak English well enough to communicate with children, staff, management and parents
- Must be able to read and write English well enough to prepare, complete and maintain administrative forms and records as required by current governmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of infant growth and development
- Satisfy the mandatory physical and background checks as required by State and company regulations and policies
- Infant and Child CPR and First Aid
Working Conditions:
The Toddler Teacher shall be primarily assigned to a single childcare center and be able to implement The Learning Experience toddler program during normal center hours and adhere to a schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The Toddler Teacher will serve in a lead-teaching capacity based on class enrollment and ratios. The Toddler Teacher may spend a lot of time on their feet and include both indoor and outdoor activities. The work can be demanding and stressful and requires flexibility in a fast paced environment. The variety of work entails the supervision of children, the ability to work with management and complete administrative tasks as well as the ability to assess the performance of students and communicate student progress with parents.
Primary Responsibilities:
First and foremost, the Toddler Teacher's responsibility will be to the safety and well- being of the children and staff while implementing the Toddler program in alignment with company policies, philosophies and procedures. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all current government rules and regulations that pertain to the operation of The Learning Experience centers.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures contained in the Operations Manual, Employee Handbook, Student Enrollment Packet, and Curriculum Guides
- Establish a well managed classroom incorporating all center programs within the daily schedule for Toddler.
- Utilize a center-based approach to offer children an opportunity for creative and independent activities
- Work with the Center Director and Business Manager to hold Open House and Parental Conferences
- Maintain student records as required
- Report all problems to the Center Director, Assistant Director and Business Manager
- Train and lead-teach
- Prepare class materials
- Compile individual observation and feeding/diapering reports on a daily basis, maintaining a file on each child as well as supplying the parents with the daily communication through the Safe N Secure 360 and in person
- Prepare and distribute snack and lunch as required under the direction of the Center Director, Assistant Director, Business Manager or Food and Nutrition Coordinator
- Maintain a "Tour Ready" classroom at all times
- Prepare children for entry to the Twaddler classroom
- Attend staff and center meetings along with trainings and workshops as requested
- Complete all required Developmental hours as required by the state and The Learning Experience Write and implement daily LEAP curriculum, child assessments and parent-teacher conferences.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support Assistant Toddler Teacher center staff

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
